This week I am recommending three of my favorite films that premiered at film festivals last year, one of the best films of the decade that is now finally on streaming, and three documentaries about Appalachia, a family secret, and the pursuit of happiness.

But first, rather than pick a film from the Palestine Film Index, this week I am suggesting everyone watch the Oscar-winning documentary No Other Land, which is available streaming for the next few weeks with the proceeds going directly to support the communities of Masafer Yatta.
