As the year winds down and I’ve posted what I believe is my final piece of the year, I want to share a selection of my favorite things I’ve worked on this year. Before December closes I’ll still do an end of the month wrap-up, my annual Favorite Fifteen Films, and a post about my favorite film discoveries (which I may combine this year), but since this has been my most prolific year to date in terms of freelance writing (I wrote or contributed to nearly 150 articles(!), not counting all these newsletters or the now defunct Classic Film Collective Patreon), so I felt like that work deserved its own spotlight.

My writing from home is actually more of a Proustian write-in-bed style than this

In January, I reviewed several films out of Sundance and interviewed directors Nikyatu Jusu and Jamie Dack, I also wrote about the acting style of Andrew Garfield,

February, was a light month with a few reviews and interviews, but I loved talking about Jane Campion on the Director’s Club Podcast.
