In this week’s special Valentine’s Day edition of the guide I am recommending a handful of films about love in its many forms. This includes a new anti-rom-com, a favorite sci-fi rom-com back on streaming after a decade, two films from writer-director-stars set in NYC and LA, a historical romantic drama and a vibrant modern day rom-com from Black writer-directors, and a coming-of-age drama set in South Dakota and a Palestinian documentary both about the power of childhood friendship.
